Our Process
An ALCG Books literary consultant will work closely with you to keep you on track and guide you to the finish line. If you follow our proposed writing timeline for an average-length novel (up to 300 pages), ALCG Books guarantees that you'll finish writing your book within 18 months.
While we have a special place in our hearts for gifted writers whose voices are underrepresented in the American literary scene, we welcome all writers who have a great story to tell. Our process is designed to be collaborative, professional, and tailored to meet your individual needs.

ORIGIN STORY
The seed for the ALCG Books was planted in 2011, when its CEO/Founder, Toyin Adeyemi, was a graduate student of literature at American University in Washington, D.C. Her work on campus as a teaching assistant, writing center consultant, and critical reader of creative and academic manuscripts spurred a flood of individual manuscript review requests from her colleagues and friends. Known for her eagle-eye attention to detail and her incisive approach to discovering and unearthing writerly talent, Toyin carried her skill to Columbia University, where she earned an MFA in Creative Writing in 2015. Today, ALCG Books is composed of rigorously trained, highly-skilled editors and writers who offer personalized coaching to help ALCG clients realize their book-writing and publishing goals. We have a special place in our hearts for underrepresented voices and talent that has taken a non-traditional path to publishing.
